The IOSH managing Safely course is for managers and supervisors within all industries and organisations. The course provides the knowledge and skills needed to manage health and safety within their teams. It is a flexible learning route which allows you to complete this course on any device anywhere in the world.

Overview

The objectives of this course are for the leaner to gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to manage health and safety within their team. By completing this course, they will be awarded a Managing Safely certificate from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), the world’s largest health and safety membership organisation. With this industry leading certificate learners have a distinct advantage in their managerial or supervisory position.

The course is arranged into seven modules;
• Introducing managing safely
• Understanding your responsibilities
• Identifying hazards
• Assessing risks
• Controlling risks
• Investigating accidents and incidents
• Measuring performance

Assessment

Learners are assessed through and Exam and Project. Learners must pass both parts to achieve an IOSH Managing Safely certification.

Exam
The IOSH Managing Safely Exam demonstrates the student’s understanding of the information contained within the course. The exam is taken online, so there is no need to attend a training centre. The exam consists of multiple-choice questions and must be completed within 45 minutes. Students will need to achieve at least 36 points from a possible 60 to pass the exam. Students can have two attempts at the exam. A student will have to resit the whole course if they do not achieve the required marks on the second attempt.

Project
The IOSH Managing Safely Project demonstrates the student’s ability to conduct a risk assessment. The assessment can be conducted at the workplace, or anywhere with which the student is familiar. The project is completed online and must be emailed to the HSQE tutors for assessment. Draft copies of the project can be sent to the tutor before formal assessment.

What Will I Get?

Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, students are awarded a Managing Safely certificate from IOSH – the world’s largest health and safety membership organisation.
